Tech supergiant Google might have had humble beginnings but their journey is one for the books – as it is truly a remarkable one.
During the mid 90s Sergey Brin and Larry Page crossed paths – at the time both were doctoral students who were enrolled in Stanford University’s program of Computer Science. They started a research project originally titled the “BackRub” which later on got renamed to Google.
The name was originally derived from the mathematical term “Googol” which actually represents a very big number.
Google has made a special doodle celebrating its 25th birthday as “G25gle”. In their official blog they even made a post:
Today’s Doodle celebrates Google’s 25th year. And while here at Google we’re oriented towards the future, birthdays can also be a time to reflect. Let’s take a walk down memory lane to learn how we were born 25 years ago .
Sundar Pichai (current CEO of Google) has also written a note the previous month where he stated that Google has had a very long and remarkable journey – up till now. Google has made a very positive impact on transforming the technology industry.
