The new model is set to be released next year, and Meta could begin training it as early as the first quarter of 2024. Meta’s new AI system is expected to help companies develop advanced text analysis and services, the WSJ reported.
The company’s latest AI system, “Llama 2”, was released two months ago. The WSJ reported that Meta’s next-generation AI system will be “several times more powerful” than the company’s previous AI system.
Meta’s new AI model will be trained using Meta’s own infrastructure, rather than Microsoft’s Azure cloud-based platform that was used for the release of Llama 2, the WSJ reports.
“Meta plans to use its own data centers to train its new AI model,” the WSJ reports, adding that the company is in the early stages of acquiring Nvidia’s H100 chips to train the AI model.
